What to expect on your trial day

Trials are usually conducted at my clients home or at a nominated location which suits you. I prefer to book trials between 6-8 weeks before the event date usually mid week or a Sunday at 10.00am. This is to ensure there is plenty of time prior to the event should there be some changes. It's also close enough to the event date to keep all details fresh in our minds as to what styles we tried and discussed. I also prefer to keep Saturdays available for weddings and need the morning natural light for the makeup part of the trial.

During your trial I will record your final makeup look on a face chart to ensure you are completelly satisfied on the day. Before I commence we will discuss the makeup styles you like, what will compliment your features and we will determine the look thats right for you.

Please ensure to advise me prior to our appointment if you or anyone else requiring their makeup done has sensitive skin, reacts to any particular products or has a skin condition or illness.

Hair is generally started of with either blowdrying or curl setting and then I like to demonstrate a few different ways you could wear it on the day e.g. left out, half upstyle or a full upstyle if you are unsure. Once you are happy I will take a photo of the end result.

It is always good to keep in mind that all hairstyles chosen must compliment your current hair type e.g. hair length, hair thickness, the natural state of you hair is also very important when achieving your desired look e.g. damaged, very fine, very thick and so on. I like to discuss this with you 2 weeks prior to the trial so it is important to have a basic idea of what you are after.

A trial for hair and makeup usually takes up to 3 hours per person. This is generally because it's important to discuss and trial different looks. For trials of 3 ladies or more I would need to hire an assistant. I normally conduct trials for the bride and 1 bridesmaid with the whole wedding party being present if possible. This is to ensure everyone is happy with the final styles chosen and confident with my services on the day.

Please note I am qualified in the field of Upstyle Hair styling which includes blow drying, curl setting and upstyling for special occasions only I do not cut hair so please have your hair trimmed if needed prior to your trial and/or event date.
